There is no surprise in the fact that things move faster when going downhill.
In the wake of an extraordinary election where the opposition took part for the first time in decades, we are experiencing in Djibouti a relentless crackdown on all form of oppositions.
The tools used are all the tell-tale sign of a despot and a fully fledged dictator. All these are happening under the nose of western diplomats,France’s largest foreign military base and the only official US military base in Africa.
If the UK’s Archbishop of York can call Mugabe “the worst kind of racist dictator” we have in Djibouti “the worst kind of tribalism dictator”.
Following the largest ballots counting fraud, the constant imprisonment of the oppositions and the use of kangaroo court to eliminate key opposition figures.
We, the MRD-UK with the help of friends of Djibouti organisation and USN UK main opposition which MRD-UK is part of it, call all friends of democracy to join us demonstrating in front of the “Mother of all Parliaments” Westminster parliament on the 20th/March/2013
At the same time MRD-UK denounce on its strongest term all imprisonments that followed up the fraudulent legislative election and specially MRD president Daher Ahmed Farah (DAF), fellow British democrat Mr Maydane, the moderate religious intellectuals and the countless opposition’s figures.
Fathi Mohamed
MRD-UK Secretary
