Where Names are Needed for a Road and Where A Name is not Needed

The new issue of naming the road between Dila and Borama is a drama from an  unknown origin and it is laughable in any sense and reasoning. In the first place, roads and streets need names only when they connect different parts of a city or a town.

We do that for administrative convinience such tax collections, ambulances and traffic directions and most importantly for the postal services.

Roads and highways that go from one place to another, take the names of their connectivity. For example if they connect Borama and Dilla or Berbera and Burao, they are either Borama/Dilla road or Berbera/ Road. that is simple and easy.

For centuries we were using the road between Hargeisa and Borama, Hargeisa and Berbera and Jabuti and Borama. Did we talk of giving names? No. Never. Why now?

It seems that there is somebody out there playing games with the Gadabursi. Perhaps that somebody is an expert in Gadabursi affairs. this person also knows that Gadabursis can argue over the least without reasoning. In every few weeks, this expert, behind the curtains formulates the game.

The other funny side of the story is why they chase each other with the least immaterial games when their land, life and properties are in constant threat. That is a debate and a very serious one.

It was only yesterday, when the whole region was boiling with the Ugas issue. That, too, was not as serious as it was raised, presented and developed.

It is unfortunate that the Gadabursi, the people with the best history and intellect are constantly arguing over an empty bowl when others others have everything in their neighborhoods.
