Transoceanic ASARDA Tele-conference
Toronto Canada - The people of Awdal/Salal with under the leadership of ASARDA have given high priority to building roads, particularly roads that connect regions, cities and business centers. The contribution of roads have made to poverty reduction and economic growth in other parts of Somaliland over the decades. It disaggregates road infrastructure into different classes to account for differences in their quality, and then estimates the impact of road investments on overall economic growth, agricultural growth, urban growth, urban poverty reduction, and rural poverty reduction.
Roads are the backbone of a country’s infrastructure and the frame of economic development. They serve as key infrastructural units which provide linkages to other modes of transportation like railways, shipping, and airways. Roads also support the growth of agriculture and other industries, and furnish easy access to social infrastructure such as schools and health centres.
In 2010, the people of Awdal/salal under the leadership of ASARDA came with new initiative of fundraising to complete the Dila Amoud Road. I’m very delighted to mention the young Awdalites who understand their responsibilities to take part the regions’ roads development programmes. I would like to mention some of those country builders:

The expansion of the road network was necessary to meet regions development goals such as advancement in the private sector; expansion of essential infrastructure; and conservation of the environment. Keeping all these factors in mind, leaders of ASARDA formulated the Dila/Amoud road development programme and we hope further network system in Awdalite Regions.
New down & road to success - Clear and wide enough for everyone. It takes at least forty eight hours to travel from Lowyade to Borama which is less than 200 miles. In rainy times people stranded days or might be weeks to cross the desert known as Giria’at.
ASARDA leadership in the Diaspora organized Transoceanic Tele-conference on Sunday May 9, 2010 and you can reach the Toronto Shiekhal Belaid(Xaamud cali cilmi hamud13@hotmail.co, Tel# 647-500-9144) with the tele-conference number and access code.
