Reaction To The So Called Samaron Leadership Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota (USA)
I am worried about the messages coming out of the US and UK on Awdal. Leadership is not some thing small. You are either born with the skills or you lack it – no amount of PhD can make you a leader even if you hold 10 of them. The people of Awdal have still their own home grown leadership at both upper and sub structure levels. H.E Dahir happens to be the current President of Somaliland and he won by election so we are leading a whole nation who constitutes the former British Somaliland Protectorate which got its independence on 26 June 1960.
Those who are interested in giving alternative leadership to our people are either from a remote and a freezing city called Minneapolis, USA are either dreaming or they are naïve. If they wish so they have to come inside the territory and fight for it or they should simply shut up as leadership is not imported from outside it is nurtured at home – it has to be home grown period. If they feel that there are weaknesses in the current leadership at all levels then let them propose recommendations that are practical and acceptable to the people.
As Isaac Hayes put it in his son long time ago: If music makes you move and you can dig the groove – move on!!!!! Move on. Those who are looking for leadership roles from the north people and who probably value their scholarly skills should think twice before they move on. The message for them is dream on brother!
