Press release: SSC diasporas announce the creation of Lascanoders Abroad

We, SSC diasporas from Canada, UK, USA, Italy and France, are pleased to announce the creation of Lascanoders Abroad, during a teleconference on Saturday, December 21st, 2008.  

Lascanoders Abroad is intended to be a non partisan, broad based organisation aimed at strengthening the economic, social and political development of SSC regions of Somaliland. During last week founding teleconference, Lascanoders Abroad executive branch has be given the mandate to

- closely monitor the political, social and economic developments of SSC regions and publish regular updates on    www.soolsomaliland.blogspot.com

- lobby all Somaliland government institutions on behalf of SSC regions. In particular, Lascanoders Abroad will remain very vigilant Somaliland next elections by analysing every political platform and publishing subsequent public endorsements.

-  effectively  mobilize SSC diasporas by organizing annual conferences. Lascanoders Abroad executive branch current mandate calls for the first meeting to be held no latter than October 2008.
 
 
Lascanoders Abroad call on all SSC natives, regardless of their political affiliations, to seize the historical opportunity offered by recent events. By effectively closing the Puntland-Somaliland tug of war over SSC, Somaliland national army and Sool freedom fighters are allowing all SSC natives to move beyond the current chronic underdevelopment.

Indeed, courtesy of Puntland occupation, SSC regions are today lagging every other Somaliland region in almost every aspect. To put and end to this sad state of affairs, Lascanoders Abroad asserts that Somaliland political framework will allow SSC to reach their full potential because this framework essentially maintain peace and order while giving full power to locals to manage their own affairs. Lascanoders Abroad is confident that given a peaceful and orderly environment, SSC regions will quickly catch up and become the economic and political engine of Somaliland.
