Baidao politicians singing bird songs

By Cabdale farah sigad

The so called Somali parliament in Baidoa is no more than singing Birds, for if they have the courage to concentrate and deal with the realities which the people they are suppose to represent are facing, then maybe the rest of the world would have taken them seriously. Their empty rhetoric and protests against Somaliland & Ethiopian relations is yet another idiotic diversion from the true realities facing the people of Somalia.

The true character of the egotistic politicians in Baidoa is similar to that of a Cat and a Mouse game, while the warlord Abdilahi Yousuf is busy seting himself up for an absolute power grab by encroaching  deep down into the heart of HAWIYE clan terotory in order to get his way, he has employed some members of the Somali parliament to divert the attention of their fellow parliamentary colleagues to issues which have no real impact on the people of Somalia.

DFKGS government lead by Abdillahi Yousuf is hungery for power and will do what ever it takes to achieve it, but it will be a great sorrow for the people of Somalia to put their life in colonel Abdilahi Yousuf’s hands and that of his fellow warlords, it is very unfortunate to see colonel Abdillahi and his buddies manipulating the Baidoa conference.

The latest news coming from Baidoa, regarding the relationship between HARGEISA and ADDIS ABABA is not entirely something new, but is another ugly face of the dual strategy followed by Abdillahi Yousuf’s camp. However Somaliland has reached the highest form of maturity, which is even more mature than some of the recognized countries in the region, and its citizens will not have great worries about the bluffing politicians in Baidoa.

The shameless politicians in Baidoa once again showed their true colors when they started pretending to care about something which they have no business to discuss such as Somaliland’s affairs, it is a sign of the desperation of failed politicians in a failed state.

The question one has to ask is. When will the selected Baidoa parliament wake up and realize Somaliland has an elected parliament that decides what is good or bad for the people who elected them? Also it is fair to ask why southern politicians are so concerned about what is happening in a far away and foreign country- when they cannot even solve the dreadful problems in Mogadishu which is more closer to their base in Baidoa?

To my horror, I agree with Faysal Ali Warabi’s comment about the relations between Somaliland and southern Somalia when he stated that Somaliland boys have alot more in common with Ethiopian boys than those from Southern Somalia, and this happens to be the only thing that I and the UCID Leader have in common apart from the believe in Somaliland sovereignty which unites us all. I also believe a bunch of inexperienced politicians who lack any credibility to run a restaurant let along state affairs will not affect Somaliland’s existence as long as its people are united.

In conclusion as a Somalilander I am not too concerned about Baidoa’s politicians, but I would like to advice them to concentrate on their problem and let Somaliland people worry whom shall they choose as their friends.
